Updates and Getting Connected with Carillon Weddings!

As we quickly approach the end of our Spring-Summer 2012 wedding season, it’s just about that time to get these updated weddings on our blog! In the meantime, please check out our Facebook page for some of our beautiful, recent events!  We also have a pretty fabulous Pinterest board here!  You can follow us at Twitter as well!

You can also stay tuned as we start to integrate some of our weddings OUTSIDE of Carillon Beach. Our hearts will always be in Carillon, but we’ve sure had a fun time planning at other nearby locations! Our Coastal Weddings planning simply takes the same wonderful Carillon Weddings reputation and vendors, on the road! As seen in Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, Inlet Beach & Santa Rosa Beach.  Here’s a little eye-candy of our last wedding on July 7th in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.  Thank you to Rae Leytham Photography, Myrtie Blue flowers and event design and Townsend Catering for making this such a perfect wedding day for Jodie!

We’re so honored to be featured on the fabulous, Elizabeth Anne Designs , Summer 2012 VIE Magazine, Fall 2012 The Knot Florida Magazine, Style Me Pretty and so many more!

We hope everyone is having a wonderful Summer of wedding planning, new arrivals and engagements!  It’s always such a JOY to keep in touch with our past brides as they welcome new little ones into the world!  That sounds like a great blog post to me! 😉

Quite Pinteresting!!

As most of you ladies out there know, Pinterest, is one of the best ways for brides to gather all of her wedding ideas into one place!  It’s our favorite way to really connect with what our brides love and what inspires them!  One of THE coolest Facebook posts I received, was from a dear friend who was sucked in by Pinterest (which is SO easy to do), stalked this phenomenal dress, then stumbled upon a picture of me from Paul Johnson’s blog!?  I felt a little honored to be linked to this world-wide-web of Pinterest.  I even know exactly which phenomenal dress she was referring to {See Kim & Chris – how could you NOT remember that dress?!}!

With all of this being said, we have had an influx of brides who have seen The Knot’s Pick from Angela & Brian’s wedding favors:

WeddingFavors

Thank you, Vue Photography, for the original image!

After the traffic and the questions, we decided to post exactly how to make these little beauties.  Thanks, Angela for all of your help and details!

1. Search for 3x3x3 clear, plastic boxes. Angela found hers here!

2. We recommend printing out cute, personalized 3×3 ‘thank you’ notes to place inside each box. Getting coordinating ribbon also adds a great touch to the boxes!

3. Purchase enough graham crackers (2 whole crackers – halved), chocolate (2 Hershey bar halves) and 4 large marshmallows for each box.

4. Call in your girlfriends to help you assemble these over a bottle (or 2) of wine!  Angela’s boxes housed enough goodies for 2 s’mores in each box!

5. Put the boxes together first.

6. Stack 2 Graham cracker halves on the bottom, two Hershey bar halves, 4 marshmallows, then 2 more Graham cracker halves.

7. Place the note inside, or tie them to the ribbons.

8. Embelish the box with your pretty ribbon…

9. and… Voilà!  Yummy DIY creations!

We recommend doing these only a few days before the wedding, because if it’s anything like Florida, the humidity could turn the crackers into mush!  Have these cuties on a dessert table, on your sign-in table or next to your fire pit at your wedding!  If you haven’t seen Angela & Brian’s full wedding, please check out our blog {here}, and VUE Photography’s blog {here}.  The magazines LOVED their wedding!  You can see her beautiful cake {Confections on the Coast} featured ALL OVER The Knot, and featured in Weddings Unveiled!  I hope you liked this little info, and hopefully I will see this blog flying around Pinterest!?

Heather & Kevin {April Wedding at Carillon Beach}

This sweet couple was such a dream to work with from start to finish.  Grant it, we had planned their wedding in less than two months, Heather knew exactly what she wanted and we just adored their Meeting House ceremony and reception.  With Kevin being in the military, they were working with a very limited time schedule, which was just fine by us.  We scheduled their vendor day the same day they toured the property, so everything was planned and ready to go by the end of the day!  Heather even had time to create adorable favors for each guest.  Their small, 28-guest wedding, was perfect to assign place cards for everyone.  The place cards were small, silver “love bird” bottle openers that everyone loved!

Our beautiful bride was completely laid back and relaxed throughout the entire process. It was certainly no different on her wedding day! She relaxed while she got her hair and makeup done at her Carillon rental home, “Four To Go.”

This sparkling beauty was created by Heather! She said that not only did it take a long time to find the “just right” brooches, but it also took days to put together! She wanted to start a new tradition in her family, so she left a few loose brooches to give to a few special little girls in her life. Both mothers were also presented with a brooch from her handmade bouquet!

Heather’s wonderful son, Cody, walked his mom down the aisle. It was a great story when I found out that he was passing up his Senior prom to go on a honeymoon-cruise with Heather & Kevin. His response was that he had “already been to prom for two years!” I loved their great relationship.

Kevin made sure that all of his favorite beers were at their wedding! During the planning process, Heather knew she wanted a “wishing tree” where all their guests could write a sweet note of encouragement and well-wishes for them! They chose to have a seated dinner that was simply amazing!

After their ceremony, the Meeting House was transformed with woodgrain tables and simple, white flowers. Heather opted to rent the mahogany chiavari chairs in place of the traditional wooden chairs that are normally in the Meeting House. Everyone was able to see the newlyweds as they danced their first dance.

Right before their sunset, we snuck Heather and Kevin away for their beach pictures.

One of the best part about the trees around the Village Green/Meeting House, is the beautiful lights! Once the sun goes down, it’s instant ambiance!

A perfect night! All our best to Mr. & Mrs. Brill! Good luck on your new stationed location!

Reinventing Mom’s Wedding Dress!

I can hardly wait to post this blog!  I have been waiting for Dawn to send me pictures of her mother’s dress is its original form, and I cannot wait to share them!  I’m not sure if you remember Dawn & Josh’s beautifully dreamy wedding on June 19, 2010, so be sure to check out their wedding in our archives!  This is one of my favorite stories from over the past few years!  Dawn wore the same beautiful dress that Peggy (Dawn’s mother) wore when Peggy married Mike (Dawn’s father), 26 years prior!  Not many brides can say that!  Not only was it special, but it was PERFECT for their ceremony on Carillon Beach.  The only changes were made to the sleeves and bodice of the gown, but everything else stayed in place.  I can’t imagine how sentimental it must have been for Peggy and Mike to see their daughter in the same dress.  She was gorgeous!

Don’t you just love these old, photos?! Peggy was gorgeous!

Here is Dawn trying on her mother’s old gown… You will be able to tell that she kept the original lace when they reworked the bodice for her.

The train had the perfect flow on the beach!

It had the same phenomenal flow, 26 years later!

I think it’s safe to say that Mike and Josh both loved the ladies in this dress. I know we did!

Thank you, Dawn and Peggy, for sharing your wonderful pictures and memories!

New Year, New Office, New Awards!

We are delighted to announce that we, at Carillon Weddings, have relocated to a new office in Rosemary Beach!  The new location is just a few miles from our previous retail location on the Carillon Market Street.  We are sharing a second-floor office with Paul Johnson Photography.  Our move will give us the proximity to beautiful Carillon Beach, while also allowing us the flexibility to perform our coordination services at other local venues.  It is also favorable that our new location is much closer to exclusive vendors for meetings and appointments.  We look forward to a new year with flawless weddings and thank our memorable 2010 brides for voting us “Bride’s Choice Awards ’11” by WeddingWire and “The Knot Best of Weddings 2011!”  Please feel free to contact us with any questions.  We wish you all a very Happy New Year!

We are so honored and incredibly grateful! I know we are in such great company! Thank you for loving our weddings!

Aimee & Brad {February Wedding at Carillon Beach}

When coordinators talk about a memorable bride & memorable wedding, this wedding is definitely up on the top of the list!  Aimee was such a sweet, Southern bride who couldn’t wait to plan out her dream wedding with us.  I am confident to say that she has kept ties with all of us vendors beyond her wedding day, especially now that they’re expecting baby McBrier!

Aimee and Brad at Carillon Beach

Not much before the wedding, Aimee called the shop to tell me that she found her dream dress that would be a “knock out.” Knowing that she started working in a Bridal Store, I definitely couldn’t wait to see this last-minute switch to designer, Matthew Christopher!

Beautiful details surrounded Aimee on her big day… from the embroidered handkerchief to her feathery garter!

A sweet touch as Aimee helps her flower girl get ready for the ceremony! … What a precious pearl bracelet!

Aimee’s bridesmaids dresses were perfect and very flattering for everyone! The neckline had such a wonderful detail that no necklaces were needed.

Looking back on her vendor appointment, the flowers turned out to be exactly what Aimee had hoped for!

Their ceremony took place on the Village Green, with brown benches because we decided it would create the best country feel! The ribbons that blew in the wind added such a sweet touch!

The first thing that the guests saw was Rhonda’s fabulous cake with perfectly stylized-flower details. We loved the garden flower varieties throughout the reception.
